Dukie's Story

We just had to have our beloved Dukie put down on April 23, 2009. He was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2007. we had a large lump about the size of a baseball removed from his chest because it was pushing on his heart in 2007. But it was a fast growing cancer and it eventually passed through to his organs and then into his bloodstream. We tried all the treatments we could find but the cancer continued to spread. We were able to get a few more years and he made it to his 15th birthday. We cried and we will miss him but we only got to spend so much time with him because we watch what they eat. Dukie was given a death sentence at age seven. And he proved them all wrong. he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and he beat it. Our neighbors poisoned him twice and he beat it. He may not have sucessfully beat cancer but he's been through alot and has survived so much. He is my hero. And no matter what I love him now and always, for he was and always will be our little warrior.
